Class Description:

Backward bending has long been linked to  both the spiritual heart and the organic heart. We open the heart for many reasons; to share our love with one another,; to feel fulfilled and happy; to experience exhilaration, to conquer our fears of the unknown,  to gain greater opening of the chest for the practice of pranayama; to learn self study and sometimes just to have that satisfaction that comes from a difficult  challenging yoga class.  This intense class if for those who want to explore the challenge of backward bending coming from your heart instead of your ego. Finding the beauty of the asanas as well as the challenges. Learning to experience contentment "santosa" while doing "tapas" through self study "svadyaya" is the goal of this class

Class Notes:
Minimum requirements: Students should be able to do a handstand against the wall, do peacock pose with the wall, do headstand independently,  push up from the floor into a backward bend and want to be challenged.  Participants should bring a belt, a block a mat  and a couple of blankets if possible.
