Class Description:

In this workshop, yin and yang styles of yoga will relax and strengthen the body, pranayama and chanting will open the breath, and shamatha (calm abiding) meditation will guide us into a more natural, released awareness.

Chandra will introduce Shamatha (pronounced shamata) Meditation as taught by the 8th century Indian Buddhist adept, Padmasambhava, who brought Buddhsim to Tibet. This style of Shamatha, called Settling the Mind in its Natural State, shows us how to release mental struggle and to simply "settle" into our natural, luminous true nature.
