The Sacred Thread of Yoga

Bobby Clennell

Senior Iyengar Yoga Teacher, Bobby Clennell is a direct student of yoga master, B.K.S. Iyengar. Certified to teach by him in 1977, she has over thirty- four years experience as a teacher and practitioner. She is a core faculty member of the Iyengar Yoga Institute of New York. She has written and illustrated three yoga manuals: Props and Ailments (a second edition of which is currently in the works), detailing the therapeutic applications of Iyengar Yoga props; Iyengar Yoga Glossary, an introduction to the unique “language” of Iyengar Yoga; and A Cosmic Body Map, a key to the Vedic Gods, their location and function within the body, and their mythological significance. Her newest book, The Woman’s Yoga Book: Asana and Pranayama for All Phases of the Menstrual Cycle, which she also illustrated, empowers women to draw strength from the wisdom of the menstrual cycle. It offers a practice that rather than being outwardly programmed, is responsive to individual cycles.  For more information:
