The Festival

The Sacred Thread of Yoga is a Festival in which many Esteemed Presenters from all over the world will be gathering together to express their profound gratitude for yoga. They will salute the Ancient Teachers who have transmitted the 'sacred thread of knowledge' down through the ages. The classes are an expression of gratitude and respect for those who have preceded them, who kept the subject alive over the aeons, and who brought to each of them the blessings and inspiration of Spirit.

The first part of the Festival, Monday 11 to Friday 15, will be a 5-Day Iyengar Yoga Intensive. The Assembled Faculty is a collection of Advanced Certificate Holders, Teacher Trainers, Moderators and Assessors from all over the world. They have each been running teachers' training programs and assessing and moderating for at least two decades. The level of classes offered range from 'Mild', which are intended for beginners and the less experienced or those who are restricted, to the 'Intense', intended for the accomplished. Classes are also offered for those new to the Iyengar style and those who are familiar with it. There is something for every age, expertise, and level of ability.

The second part of the Festival, Friday 15 to Sunday 17, is an Open Weekend featuring some of the best known names in yoga drawn from all around the world. An exceptional body of world-renowned teachers, they have been teaching, training, and passing on the light of yoga for many decades. They gather to express their thanks for what they have received, and to carry on the ancient tradition of spreading the light of learning. Classes are offered at a variety of levels, ranging from the beginner to the advanced, and in a wide variety of styles. There are classes geared to asana practice, meditation, chanting, talks on various themes, and the role of yoga within the community.

We look forward to seeing you in October and wish you blessings and peace in the months ahead.
